Alphazekko episode 1 & 2 preservation (PLEASE READ)

Posted by InkuShel - August 25th, 2023

For the past few minutes tonight I've been trying to find episodes 1 & 2 of an obscure flash series called Alphazekko.

There are 6 episodes. (It promised more episodes later on but as of now there are none so it's fair to say the series got cancelled or something.) Only episodes 3-6 and the intro were uploaded on Newgrounds, while the rest aren't, so I'm currently looking for them so I can preserve them and upload them to YouTube or archive.org. I use the Wayback machine for the original site (Alphazekko.com) but unfortunately Ruffle won't load anything. (For some reason??)

I decided to dig even deeper and find some old foreign flash game websites that used to have the episodes, even the lost ones that I'm currently looking for. It was titled Alphazekko Broken Home, Broken Home being the episode name for episode 4. I thought this was strange, but it didn't bother me too much. I thought I was finally getting a lead, finally getting a chance to preserve episodes 1 & 2, but surprise, surprise, I was a couple years too late, and no shit, flash is gone. One foreign website even removed the flash games and resorted to just being an article website now. (total downgrade, if you ask me.)

I went on the Wayback Machine AGAIN to find if any old links were archived, and surprise, I found one capture! I thought I was finally getting somewhere but unfortunately the Ruffle player is broken and I encountered an error. Apparently, it was blocked by the CORS policy. (A new enemy for lost media preservers imo) And then all I could say was GOD FUCKING DAMN IT and try other ways. Maybe I could go back to those foreign websites again but who knows.

I haven't tried contacting the SinkMeat team (The creators of Alphazekko) about this because it's 2023 and I know they're doing way different things right now. They probably won't even have them saved anyways...

This search has been infuriating me because of how hard it is. I am not giving up, however. I need a little help though.

All I ask is for episodes 1 & 2 of Alphazekko to be found. Then I am completely done.

If anyone has info on the lost episodes OR know a way to preserve the episodes (my computer isn't probably cut out for it) OR already have the episodes saved, please please PLEASE let me know in comments or DM's. I would LOVE to see them. Any lead counts.

(Also pardon me from my language in some of this text, like I said, this search has been hard for me.)

EDIT: you can look for these foreign flash websites by just looking up Alphazekko Broken Home.

If you're a lil confused, here are some video guides about archiving flash games by Li Speaks:

I think you might need a flash enabled internet browser like Palemoon or Waterfox Classic. (I haven't downloaded them but I'm just recommending you guys to them.)

Hope that helps with our search.

I'm also tempted to upload this post in the Lost Media Wiki forums so more people can know about this and help with the search. I'll think about it.

Again, if you have any leads about episode 1 & 2, or already have the episodes saved, please let me know in comments or DM's. I would love to see them so I could save them and archive them.

Thank you!
